Water Quality and Availability is in Crisis Worldwide

Two Sudanese children drink water from swamps using plastic tubes fitted with a filter to prevent worm larvae that cause severe diseases. The filter reduces incidence of disease by 70%.


Glaciers that provide water to Europe have lost 50% of their volume this century. Workers at a ski station in Austria cover the snow during the summer to reduce loss due to melting.


Villagers in Coronilla island in Kenya, dig up deep wells searching for water. Being so close to the coastline the aquifer is becoming undrinkable from incursion of brackish water.


The Aral sea, once the fourth largest lake in the World, is now a dusty ship cemetery.
